Calc Dev.
Learn how much energy is available in your wood waste! How much money could you save by using the energy from you wood waste instead of buying fuel.
Most of the wood used by wood manufacturers and wood packaging waste is between 10-12% moisture content. By knowing how much wood waste is produced each week, we can calculate the amount of energy available.
Disposal costs per ton have huge variations depending on amount, logistics and available transport. Put in the average cost per ton.

+ HOW DO WE CALCULATE THIS AND MORE INFORMATION ON THESE NUMBERS.
We assume 52 weeks in a year and the energy content of the wood to be 10-12%. This gives a energy content per ton of 4000kWh/T. This is a good approximation to be starting from. Higher moisture content wood will have less kWh/T, 20% moisture content might have 3000kWh/T. The only sure way to know is to get you wood sampled in a lab.
Please input your yearly energy usage below. We will compare this number to the energy available in your wood waste above.
This calculation assume mains natural gas being used at a cost of 7.5p/kWh. The slider will increase the savings can have with increasing energy usage until the total is large than the wood waste you have available. This figure will be found on your bill or energy usage statement
